From time to time, Islamic lands were crushed under enemy. Despite the enemy occupation, an honorable stance and struggle were shown. However, in the last century, the situation has become quite different.

When Covid-19 is occupying the agenda mostly all around the world and the whole world is fighting against the Covid-19, maybe you are saying “Is our topic Bernard Lewis?” Maybe you are right. But it is a fact that life goes on and we should never let Covid-19 affect our future in negative way.

We always talk about Turkey, which is confined to its borders with the deception of Peace at Home, Peace in the World. We talk about Turkey, which accepts its neighbors as enemies and forms defense lines within its borders. Even the funniest part is that plans to create natural barriers by flooding dams and rivers.

Since coming to power in 2003, President Erdoğan has endeavored to produce policies that will enable us to live peacefully in society domestically.

He avoided as much as possible from a polarizing understanding of society, as previous governments did.

He did not refrain from giving positive energy to his environment in this direction.

He was not resentful of what was done to him for a poem he read.

He did not target those who said he could not even be a neighborhood representative.

After the 3rd International Islamic Union Congress, which was held within the scope of the International ASSAM Islamic Union Congresses, which was initiated by the ASSAM Association of Justice Defenders Strategic Studies Center in 2017, a group of people went crazy.

They said that the Islamic Union is an unrealizable dream, a utopia.

Although it is an unfamiliar word for new generation, our generation knows very well what is tried to be told when it comes to Malta.

President Mr. Erdoğan made history in France. However, many media organ focused more on fundamental human rights and EU issues. They could not see the big picture.

So, what is the big picture?

There was a different Turkey that had been allied with the United States for decades and could hardly develop any strategy without approval of USA. But now there is a different Turkey today which is no longer a passive, but a play maker country.

The defendants of the Sledgehammer case were released from prison pending a trial. They tried to give the impression that they were acquitted with the shows they performed in front of the prison together with the crowd of media, and they used to insult the moral values of the nation as an element of courage.

They also implied that they are not done with those who sent them to prison and that they will definitely come to terms with it. They did not forget to strike a pose with a whole crowd of cute lawyers around. Those who saw them would think that they were heroes.
