Today's people should understand the agenda of the past that we have in a discipline of philosophy of history. Because readings of history should not be merely reading what happened in the past as a chain of events or circling the past in an anachronistic manner, and an empirical approach should be developed. Such an approach style is very important and essential in terms of identifying and analyzing the dynamics of social change and determining a roadmap for the future. This is also a Divine law…
This is why there is an urgent need for the philosophy of history to work in every field in order to take a proactive position and to discover the laws that regulate events and to act on values instead of facts. It is up to this point whether to stay in the mind-besiegedness or to break the patterns, which are not ours from the evil eye. We are tired of looking at the West all the time. We forgot the color of our eyes because we were looking through the lenses of a particular culture.
What we are trying to do is an effort to get rid of the virtual cage of postmodernism by starting the journey to our historical and cultural codes within the historical experience and accumulation of our civilization, by confronting ourselves as if by making a conscientious reckoning and by making a wise understanding from it.
Compared to modern times, investment in knowledge; that is, we live in postmodern times when the return on psychological capital investment becomes more important than physical capital investment. Today, information is a component of everything we produce, make, sell and buy. As a result, managing knowledge and discovering, developing, preserving and sharing intellectual capital has become the most important function of individuals, businesses and countries. Therefore, instead of considering only numerical and verbal intelligence in educational methodologies, a multifaceted mind development that includes visual, rhythmic and self (personality) development should be targeted. We are going through a process of digitalization, in which we are rapidly evolving into an information society. Those over a certain age are in the position of “digital immigrants” because they are introduced to digital technology later. Since the new generation is born by meeting this technology even before it is born, it is in the “digital native” position and the whole world is in a hurry to keep information technologies under control in the most efficient and fastest way. As in the times of the Industrial Revolution, the cheap labor force and physical production, which we now call the labor force, does not matter where and by whom. Because the capital that produces worldwide has created the opportunity for new investment areas at lower costs. In other words, the workforce has gained mobility and its permeability between countries has increased. We are faced with a de facto situation where the physical structure of a production, device, vehicle or an invention is more important to whom and who controls the software, depending on the information technology rather than who or where it is built. To put it briefly, the new economy is the knowledge economy and whoever makes this knowledge effective means he has power and control in global and regional terms.
In the new culture built by the knowledge society, it has become necessary for the educational philosophy to assume new roles and tasks. If a method specific to an educational understanding that constantly updates itself is not developed, we continue to rotate in a vortex that goes no further than imitation. Moreover, if an effective innovation process is not established, even our level of imitation will not go beyond the level of rhetoric, let alone creating original ideas.
In the information society, governance, scientists and entrepreneurs must first of all raise awareness of the educational value of knowledge and provide effective guidance on reaching it. If this happens, then there will grow a generation that takes responsibility and develops an attitude at a global level. And only then, while taking the most appropriate position on a global scale, a generation with high self-confidence who can position themselves in the world with a reflex that never deviates from its own self and can act "glocal", which does not ignore local realities such as culture, morality, national will, loyalty to civilization and society, and never feels like a loser.
In the realization and continuity of all these values, there is a need for a correctly positioned loop, namely the "Loop of Virtue". What Loop of virtue means is the coming together of state administrators, politicians, civil and military bureaucracy, scientists and businessmen to create an interdependent loop for the country and humanity in the direction of common wisdom and common interest. Concrete barriers and stone walls will undoubtedly be built in front of us today and in the future as in the past. Although the methods change in this regard, the goals will not change at all. But no matter what happens, there is no other way but to continue on our way...
"Vecihi Hürkuş" training aircraft, "Atak" helicopter, "Altay" indigenous tank project, unmanned aerial vehicle "Anka", "GÖKTÜRK" reconnaissance and surveillance satellite project, "MİLGEM" national ship project, the world's first laser-guided missile "Cirit" and many completed and ongoing projects more; we wish these days to be auspicious moments when the ideals and dreams of many patriots who could not see these inventions, who devoted themselves to the service of their country become reality. As Sezai Karakoç said:
“Those who cannot meet on the ground meet in the sky.
And in an auspicious moment
They help them to meet who wish to come together.”
